SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A special edition of "Cuomo" will air Monday on News Nation featuring a town hall called "Crime in America." Journalist and show host Chris Cuomo will speak with mayors, crime victims, and law enforcement about potential solutions to crime in American cities. KRON4 News Anchors Darya Folsom and James Fletcher spoke with Cuomo Thursday morning about what he dug up on San Francisco's crime and public image problems. "Obviously, San Francisco has been in the crosshairs of national scrutiny. The problem, I believe, is being exaggerated, but more importantly, misunderstood. People twist reality to their own agenda. We got to be afraid of twisting data, and we have to be afraid of simple solutions to complex problems. And crime is at the top of the list (for) complex problems," Cuomo said. Folsom said when she's traveling, and tells people from outside the Bay Area that she's from San Francisco, "the first thing people say is ... 'oh my God it's dangerous.' What do...

Hamstring pulls, ligament tears and ankle sprains can be as formidable an opponent for NFL teams as a high-scoring offense or stingy defense.“There’s a 100% injury rate in the NFL,” seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady once said.Navigating those injuries could make the difference between a squad seeing its season sink or beating the odds and making the playoffs. Here’s a look at some of the most common injuries suffered by NFL players throughout the season:ACHILLES TENDON RUPTURESThe Achilles is the longest and strongest tendon in the body and stretches from the heel to the calf. It’s a springy band located behind the ankle and just above the heel that helps players push off their feet, jump and accelerate.Due to overuse or excessive force placed on the tendon, it can tear or rupture. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Star running back Saquon Barkley followed his heart in signing his franchise tag and joining the New York Giants for the start of training camp.Speaking for the first time since signing a one-year, $11 contract earlier Tuesday, Barkley said he wanted to play the game he loved, realized he had little leverage in contract talks after being tagged and hoped having a second straight big season would help increase the value of running backs across the NFL.“I had an epiphany,” Barkley said Thursday after the second day of practice. “Now, the reality of it is, I kind of just followed my heart.”The Giants and Barkley failed to reach a deal on a multi-year contract extension on July 17, meaning he could only play on a one-year deal, centered around the $10.1 million franchise tag the Giants placed on him on March. There was speculation Barkley would sit out a part of training camp or possibly the entire season if he was very unhappy. It never came that clos...
