EDITORS NOTE: FOX4 reported earlier that the number of people who have petitioned are waiting to get expunged. The story has been corrected to say the number of people who have petitioned are either waiting to get expunged or have already been expunged. FOX4 regrets the error and apologizes for the mistake.KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Circuit clerks have a statewide deadline that says they must expunge misdemeanor charges related to less than three pounds of marijuana by June 8, but circuit clerks say the deadline is unrealistic. In November, voters passed Amendment 3, which would allow for thousands of Missourians with marijuana misdemeanors on their record to get automatic expungements. The action also allows for individuals currently serving prison time for a marijuana related offense to file a petition for expungement of their record.Over 46,000 marijuana cases have already been expunged statewide, data shows – possibly more, depending on how a criminal case was charged.“We cannot meet that...Missouri AG pushes to remove Iron County Sheriff from office

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Attorney General filed a petition Thursday in an effort to remove the Iron County Sheriff Jeffrey Burkett from office.Burkett and two other Iron County deputies were arrested in March and accused of helping a man in a parental kidnapping plot.Charging documents say that in February, a 62-year-old man named Donald Gaston sought to take his daughter after an argument with the child’s mother. Prosecutors say Burkett lied to a 911 dispatcher to report that the mother had kidnapped the girl, and falsely accused the woman of putting the child in danger. Ultimately, the girl remained with her mother. Revisting Mike Shildt’s comments on his Cardinals departure Bailey's petition alleges that Burkett is unfit to hold office after allegedly helping Gaston in a plot to kidnap the child. “As Attorney General, I will always work to hold accountable those who refuse to do their job as required by Missouri statute,” said Attorney General Bailey. “Missourians hav...“Top Chef” alum Carrie Baird’s new breakfast joint opens in Denver

Dean Cain is the latest celebrity to leave the Golden State. In an interview with Fox News the "Lois & Clark" star revealed he moved to Nevada because of his issues with some of California's "policies.""I love California. It's the most beautiful state," he told the network's Brian Kilmeade on Wednesday. "Everything's wonderful about it except for the policies. The policies are just terrible. The fiscal policies, the soft-on-crime policies, the homelessness policies."Real estate sources told TMZ that Cain sold his mansion for $6.25 million, which went for $1 million under his original asking price. The actor listed his home in March and it sold in May. Cain's departure follows actors Mark Wahlberg and Scott Baio, who also left California."The things that our leaders in California have been doing have driven out anybody who can really afford to get out. People are flocking out of there in droves," he said. Wahlberg also moved to Nevada to give his kids "a better life," he revealed...Truckers protest AB 5 after Los Angeles ends hauling program contract

Dozens of truckers protested in front of Los Angeles City Hall Thursday morning after they received news that the city was ending its contract with them. The As-Needed, Haul Truck Program has been running since the 1890s, but the city notified the drivers at the end of last month that the 2021-23 contract would not be renewed due to a pair of state laws: Assembly Bill 5 and Assembly Bill 2257.AB 5, which was intended to crack down the practice of classifying workers as independent contractors as opposed to employees, in particular has drawn scrutiny from a variety of workers and industries. Multiple protesters at City Hall Thursday morning targeted that law, carrying signs claiming that the law "destroys livelyhoods" and should be repealed. They also emphasized that the vast majority of the drivers in the program are people of color.City officials, however, say their hands are tied by the laws, and they have no choice but to end the program. The city's website for the program says th...AbilityFirst in Pasadena And Cheetah’s Birthday Burger Bash – Here’s What’s Popping Up

Emmy FYC season is here which means “For Your Consideration” events and billboards have popped up all over town, once again touting TV shows to L.A. based Emmy voters (despite the writers strike and what looks like an impending SAG strike). Not all shows are worthy, of course (The Kardashians just held an FYC event this week at the DGA…for some reason). It remains to be seen what will actually score a nod this year, but Peacock has some well-deserved confidence about its slate and one show in particular tops the list: Pete Davidson and Lorne Michaels’ BUPKIS.The show, loosely based on Davidson’s life, is quite brilliant, effortlessly walking the line between Curb Your Enthusiasm cringe comedy and heartfelt family drama. If you don’t have Peacock, and haven’t seen it yet, you’re in luck. The network just did a surprise drop of the critically-acclaimed second episode on YouTube yesterday. They’ll also broadcast it on NBC this Saturday before Saturday Night Live (wh...Should California residents have the right to housing? That might be up to voters

California voters could decide if having a place to live should be a constitutional right for state residents.Working its way through the legislature is a proposed constitutional amendment that guarantees a “fundamental human right to adequate housing for everyone in California.” The measure holds state and local governments responsible for fulfilling a right to housing, which could include boosting housing production, tenant protections, repurposing vacant properties and housing subsidies. If ultimately adopted by voters, California would be the first state to guarantee the right to housing in its constitution.“California is at the epicenter of the housing crisis,” said Assemblymember Matt Haney, D-San Francisco, who introduced the legislation. “We have more Californians living on the street than anywhere else in the nation.”California has the highest rate of people experiencing homelessness in the U.S., with 30% of all people in the U.S. experiencing homelessness residing in Califo...Two men shot in Oakland, one near scene of recent killing
